I’ve been travelling without any computer access for a couple of weeks now, so I will have a lot of DW backreading to do when I get home! In the meantime, here are the amazing fics I got for Yuletide, plus what I wrote:

Title: Tooth and Nail
Summary: Dominic Frey has a duty to king and country to arrest radicals of all stripes, including anti-human agitators. The fact that he's been sleeping with the worst of them for over a year now might be a problem. (Dom/Silas, 3.9k, explicit)

Here are my gift-fics, which were all brilliant (mind the spoilers if you haven’t read Baru 2!):

Fandom: Spinning Silver - Naomi Novik
Title: silver in our lungs by taywen
Summary: “The marks had been with Miryem for as long as she could remember. There were a number of them, all the same shade, following one after the other around her left wrist. They were pale as old scars, though they felt no different from the rest of her skin, and her mother claimed that Miryem had been born with them.” (Miryem/Staryk Lord, 3.7k, teen)
Notes: I love soulmate fic a lot, and soulmate fic where getting together isn’t made particularly easy by the shared bond is like crack for me. This delivers beautifully, and the fact that the author went with soulmarks of all things, considering canon, is just perfect.

Fandom: Spinning Silver - Naomi Novik
Title: say my name by taywen
Summary: Miryem suggests the Staryk say her name once in a while. He has a number of feelings on the matter. (Miryem/Staryk Lord, 1.7k, teen)
Notes: Another exploration of the name thing, from a very different POV :D This was a very in-character glimpse into the Staryk lord’s fascination and blind spots regarding Miryem, even after their relationship. Plus, I’m always here for Miryem teasing the hell out of him, A++.

Fandom: The Traitor Baru Cormorant - Seth Dickinson
Title: Ripples by cadmean
Summary: Listen: The field-general Tain Hu, the Duchess Vultjag in all her glory, is a dead woman walking and she knows it. (Baru/Tain Hu, 3.3k, teen)
Notes: Ahh, god, this character study of Tain Hu at the end of book one cuts hard and deep. Every words of this hurts, and you can’t help admiring her all the more for it.
