pearwardorf mentioned Maciej Ceglowski (the Pinboard Guy) in a tweet about fandom's current platform woes, and he asked—no promises, obviously—to see a doc with a consensus spec of what we'd like. This brings back a lot of great memories of the last time Maciej did that, right after Delicious exploded, and the doc that that led to. Also relevant: Maciej's great "Fan is a Tool-Using Animal" talk.

(Mandatory caveat: Don't assume anyone's riding in on a white horse to save us, fix everything forever and suddenly give us the perfect platform on a platter. There's no such thing. Don't put all your hopes on this one dude in California. We know better.)

Come along and take a look at what the Google doc looks like so far! (Right now, it's a mess. In a few hours, who knows?)
