Hi there, mystery author! I'm very excited to see what you'll come up with, and grateful to see that someone out there shares my tiny fandoms. I have done my best to come up with helpful ideas that would not be overly detailed or constraining, but please feel free to go 100% Optional Details Are Optional regarding anything and everything in the prompts below. If these canons inspire you to write something in a totally different direction, I'll be delighted to read it.

Things/tropes I love: UST, banter, angsty and/or fucked-up characters and interactions, clever characters actually being clever, open relationships, found families, awesome female characters, unusual world-building, time travel, outsider POV, dubcon, infidelity, kidfic, domesticity, post-break-up second chances, fake relationship, enemies- or fuck-buddies-to-lovers, hatesex, denial/delay, voyeurism, pining, and soulbonds.

I love short PWPs and long plotty fics alike; go for any tense, rating and genre you prefer. I'm equally happy with gen and shippy fic. Feel free to go full-on AU if you wish, or to stick closely to canon; I'll never mind either way. Also, regarding ships: I'm a multishipper at heart and will never be unhappy about your shipping choices, no matter what you go for.

Things I dislike: daddy kink, 'cum,' watersports, scat, rape as plot device to lead to h/c.

Red, White & Royal Blue - Casey McQuiston

Alex Claremont-Diaz, Rafael Luna

RWRB was such a delight for me, start to finish. Sure, the politics of it are beyond handwavy, but the ficcy dynamics and the utter fluffiness were just right. I'm super into the main ship in this book and would very happily read endless tropey fics about Henry and Alex, or a character study featuring them as a background pairing. So if you selected 'any' expecting that and got matched with me, please feel free to go for it. Henry and Alex utterly failing at hating each other pre-canon, Alex flirting without quite realising it before they hook up, fluffy post-canon shenanigans—whatever you want to write, I'll love it.

That said! Alex and Rafael. Alex and his ridiculous obliviousness and denial, Alex and his very obvious crush oh god, who even knows what Rafael thought of it all, but I'm so into it. And I mean, so is Alex, clearly, Rafael is part of his whole epiphany re: sexuality :D So if you're into it too, please do tell me more, in any level of detail that you'd be up for.

Some ideas (but by all means please go with something else if you prefer):

  • Alex worked with Rafael during the latter's campaign. Did anything happen in Denver? Did either of them ever want it to?

  • Why do all of Luna's staffers have orders to let Alex in—just how often does he go there exactly? What do they get up to?

  • If Henry realises that Alex has a longstanding crush, would he be up for letting Rafael have Alex for a night? Would he like to watch?

  • If you'd rather write their dynamics as gen: how about a glimpse into their friendship over the years, how did they get to where they are in canon? Does Rafael ever give him advice on Henry? Or maybe bb's first pride post-coming out — Alex watched him from afar the last time—perhaps they could go together now?

Something Human - A. J. Demas

Adares Doriades Phyleros, Lachan "Rus" Rusanarath

This book worked so well for me on so many levels. The slow build-up of respect and affection! The random bits of cultural mismatch and linguistic geekery! The oh so very unreliable narration! Conflicted loyalty! Big Gestures done despite having little hope of success! It's all so lovely. I really enjoy A.J. Demas' fake!ancient world and I'm super curious to see more of it in future books.

Here are some ideas of things I might like to see (but again: please feel free to ignore if you come up with something else):

  • Do they ever go back to visit the Luth? How does that go?
  • Does Rus ever tattoo Adares again?
  • How does having Rus by his side affect Adares' standing as chieftain? Does Rus become active in Tios politics? How does that go?
  • If you've read the bonus epilogue and want to follow up on what that hinted for Rus' future, feel free!
  • AUs: modern AU, space AU, pirate AU, rival assassins AU, politics AU, werewolf AU, anything—how would their story develop in a different setting? Honestly I just loved their dynamics so much—everything each of them had to balance, how it was both complicated and easy for them to fall in that bubble and then immediately impossible again—that I'd be thrilled with the idea of reading a million versions of these two falling in love in every possible setting.

(Note: I've read Sword Dance and One Night in Boukos, in case you have as well and want to include anything/anyone from those.)

Lilywhite Boys Series - K. J. Charles

Alexander "Alec" Pyne-ffoulkes, Jerry Crozier

These two have such a great relationship. I love the push and pull between them as the story develops and just how well they complement each other. It's so unlikely that they'd build actual trust between them in those circumstances, and yet they somehow manage it; it's both adorable and so endearing. Plus, "Lord Alexander" was a stroke of absolute genius, holy shit. Well done, KJC.

Here are some ideas (feel free to ignore if you like, I'll honestly be happy with anything about them!):

  • That fuck with Alec wearing nothing but diamonds that Jerry mentions, did they ever get around to it?
  • Circumstances lead Alec and Jerry to have to do another heist together—how does it go?
  • You could explore just what Alec likes about D/s with Jerry, or sex in public places, or any number of associated kinks we see/don't see in canon. Whatever you like!
  • Alternate first meeting: what if Jerry is mid-heist somewhere and somehow ends up stealing talented illustrator Alec himself?

(Note: I've read Gilded Cage and The Rat-Catcher's Daughter, in case you have as well and want to include anything/anyone from those.)
